Hooray for recent work. This semester I was able to attend the 2008 Participatory Design Conference held in Bloomington, Indiana. The call for artists required participatory art pieces and all the pieces were shown in the participART track. Although the conference was fairly small (less than 300 attendees), it was very international. I met people from all over the world, especially from Scandinavia considering they lead innovations in tech and design. My friend Becky went as well and showed her amazing Body Technology Interfaces. I showed Supacollager, which was a collaborative participatory art project I did with my friends Joseph Adams and Isaac Wallis. We all share the credit for concept. Isaac did a lot of the Python programming while Joe and I did user testing and UX design plus a little programming, as well as maintenance of the flickr group that was used for the conference. Check out my post on Supacollager HERE. Showing work at this venue was quite an experience. The final keynote speaker was Natalie Jeremijenko. Her talk was great.
