Sarah Hatton, b. 1981

Hello, my name is Sarah Hatton and I recently finished my Master of Fine Arts degree at Arizona State University. I worked as a research assistant on the Situated Multimedia Arts Learning Lab. My artwork/design/games/projects spans themes and media. Most of my work is interactive and my recent work explores the systems and myths of language and the way different cultures use language. Additionally, I am interested in storytelling, collective intelligence, procedural/programmed art, and game design. Before attending grad school, I worked in Hong Kong for two years (where I also studied abroad) and taught English as a Second Language. That experience motivated me to work on educational and interdisciplinary projects and had a direct impact on where I am today. Additionally, I was very lucky to work on the Alice project during undergrad as a 3D artist and research assistant. I now work on EA’s Pogo.com website as an assistant producer on features.   I also worked there during summer 2008 as an intern and I was credited on  Jigsaw Treasure Hunter.   Because of all of these experiences, games, art, interaction and education will always be my top interests. I also really love food on a stick.

Below is an example of a Pogo game, called Poppit!:
